Sea-Tribe 870 Power Cat
The Power Cat features a hard-top sunshade with a solid, wrap-around windscreen in 10mm
acrylic, and wheel steering (the solid hard-top is also an option on the 870 Sail Cat)
Our three standard motor options are twin 25hp Yamaha 4-stroke outboards, Torqeedo electric
outboards and twin inboard Asmo Marine DC electric motors.
Not only do electric engines provide clean, eco-friendly, quiet, efficient power, but also
increased maneuverability at slow speeds, and minimal motor maintenance.
There are several recharging options that can be used for electric motors. The Power Cat uses a
generator for long distance motoring - on a sailing vessel, the prop turning in the water during
sailing uses the motor as a dynamo to recharge the batteries. Solar panels and wind generators
can also be used.
